A journeyman shortstop who played for five different American League franchises, former Rookie of the Year Ron Hansen wielded and autographed this bat during the middle portion of his Junior Circuit career. The Hillerich & Bradsby (34.8-oz/35”) “R161” signature model weapon was turned during the 1965-1968 labeling period, during which, Hansen played with the Chicago White Sox and Washington Senators. The white ash weapon is signed by Hansen in black marker (“8-9” strength) between the center brand and barrel stampings. Excellent game use is evident with ball, cleat, bat-rack and deeply embedded stitch marks throughout, as well as an H-shaped crack on the handle’s upper portion. Hansen’s number “4” is inscribed on the knob in black marker. Auction LOA from JSA (for autograph).
