Virtually a “farm team” of the New York Yankees, the Kansas City Athletics were repeatedly on the short end in transactions with the Bronx Bombers. This hardcover The Kansas City Athletics book (1956, Holt) documents the franchise’s move from Philadelphia and is autographed by Roger Maris, arguably the most celebrated of those products shipped to the Big Apple. On the fly leaf, Maris has signed in ballpoint pen (“9-10’ strength) and added a personalization and a “Best Wishes” salutation. The book is pristine with the original dust jacket.
