Few officers gained household name recognition like the gallant Custer (d.1876). One part daring, one part calculating and one part just plain lucky, this career military man served courageously through the Civil War and numerous Western campaigns recording a great number of important victories right up until his death at the Little Bighorn. Make a “Custer dash” for this historically significant signature display. Custer’s distinctive signature shows determined (“8”) potency on a 3x2 cut which also bears the inscription “U.S. Army”. This prime autograph cut is gloriously framed and matted to overall dimensions of 13x17 with a 6x8 photo of the Union officer in his Brevet Major General uniform, a rank he held at the end of the Civil War. Completing this stately ensemble is a gilt-gold frame with ready for display hanging materials attached to the reverse. Full photo LOA from JSA.
