Description

Beloved artist/illustrator F. Earl Christy specialized in early college football players/scenes and popularized the "All-American Girl" genre of collegiate women fans. His work is especially renowned on programs, postcards and, seen here, ceramic ware. Aside from a few tiny flake specks on the left arm and shin, the Eli is radiant NM and the 6"-diameter plate is EX/EX-MT overall with typical crazing. Wheeling Pottery Company's La Belle China imprint appears on the reverse.
