Description

In the late 1930s, revered Swiss chocolatier Lindt & Sprungli inserted an array of stamp cards in their chocolate-bar packaging that have since become popular collectors' items. Subjects include flowers, railways, ships, castles, dogs, zoo animals, musical instruments, European cultures and more—but never before has anyone known of the existence of a Babe Ruth example...until now. Clearly depicting the Bambino's form and stance, the 2-1/16 x 1-7/16" stamp card is numbered and described, "700 Amerik. Ballspiel / Jeu de la balle / Lindt & Sprungli." Apparent EX-MT with a negligible speck of edge wear next to the ampersand. Adhered to 3x2 backing paper.
