The war was over, Teddy Ballgame was back in uniform and the Red Sox won the pennant. What proud Boston fan wouldn't have wanted to cruise around town with this nifty showpiece? Measuring 9-1/2" tall x 7-1/4" wide, the license-plate topper shows some oxidation spotting throughout, but heaviest at the bottom mounting holes where there's surface flaking. It's appropriate that the design features a slugging pose since Williams, Pesky and company led the league in most major offensive categories including runs, hits, RBIs and batting average. This item has a reserve (estimated value $750 - 1,000).
