Shunning the media and its intrusive tendencies, Steve Carlton let his left arm do the talking and it spoke volumes with four Cy Young laurels and 329 career triumphs. As he won the second of those pitching honors with a 23-10 mark in 1977, Carlton wore this Philadelphia Phillies road jersey. For good measure, Carlton autographed the jersey in blue marker (“7-8” strength) and inscribed “1980 W.S. Champs.” The blue knit zippered garment features twill identifiers, proper “Wilson” tagging and shows excellent game wear. Full photo LOA from JSA. More on our website.

The light-blue knit zippered garment features white-and-red striped trim lining the shoulders and sides and is signed in blue marker (“7-8” strength) and inscribed “1980 W.S. Champs” on the left front. On the left breast, the script-style “P” logo is sewn in red-on-white twill, while “32” is sewn to the back and right front and “CARLTON” is arched on a nameplate atop the back number in like fashion. Of note is that the nameplate has been restored. Within the satin-lined collar, “Carlton” is stitched to a swatch in cursive. The tapered left front tail is home to a “Wilson” size “46” label and a swatch with “77 2” chain stitched identifiers. The gamer shows outstanding wear with puckering about the twill components.
