Fill out the roster to twenty-five players and the 1984 U.S. Olympic baseball team would surely have been able to compete in the Majors, as sixteen members of the squad went on to MLB jobs. Signed by all (20) ’84 Team USA baseball participants along with USC coaching Legend Rod Dedeaux, this official Olympic ball is a completist’s dream. Stamped with “The Game Ball, Games of the XXIIIrd Olympiad, Los Angeles 1984” this red and blue stitched creamy orb shows moderate, sporadic toning with average (“8-9”) signature quality. The complete list of (21) signers is as follows: sweet spot: Rod DeDeaux; north panel: Bob Caffrey, Oddibe McDowell, Bill Swift, Gary Green, Scott Bankhead, B.J. Surhoff; south panel: John Hoover, Cory Snyder, Bobby Witt, Will Clark, Barry Larkin; east panel: Mike Davis, Shane Mack, Don August, John Marzano; west panel: Sid Akins, Pat Pacillo, Flavio Alfaro, Mark McGwire, Chris Gwynn. Also included is the original Rawlings 1984 Olympic Games box and red plastic stand. Full photo LOA from JSA.
