Spared from the original “House That Ruth Built” (1923-1973), this vintage receptacle facilitated the storage of ticket stubs at the famous Bronx edifice. The relic stands 30”-tall and is 12-1/2” in diameter. Once stationed near the admission turnstiles, the sturdy tin item features a hinged lid with a 5”-long hole through which stadium ushers inserted “team” portions of tickets. The original coat of blue paint is accented by “N.Y. YANKEES” (which is stenciled in white) and (2) vintage team logo decals. Steel handles remain affixed to the sides, while the latch/chain fixture is intact, as well. This historically significant stadium heirloom has a reserve (estimated value: $2500-$5000).
